JAKARTA, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has been accelerating the development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based government technology (GovTech) to strengthen governance, improve public services, and boost state revenue, a senior official has said.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and the National Economic Council (DEN) in Jakarta, where officials reported progress on integrating government data systems, DEN Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan told reporters on Tuesday.
Around 80 percent of the GovTech system has already been connected, integrating data from several key ministries and agencies into an AI-supported platform, Luhut said.
He added that the system would significantly improve oversight and expand the country's tax base.
