5.3-magnitude quake hits southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia -- GFZ

BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia, at 1808 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 7.58 degrees south latitude and 104.88 degrees east longitude.
