YANGON, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has sent a delegation of 82 athletes to compete at the upcoming 2023 ASEAN Para Games, Thaung Tin, patron of the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation (MPSF), told Xinhua on Friday.
According to Tin, the Burmese athletes across eight sports left Yangon for Cambodia on May 31. They include 10 in swimming, 25 in athletics, seven in powerlifting, 12 in volleyball, six each in goal ball and chess, two in table tennis and 14 in football, he said.
Myanmar won 14 golds, 12 silvers and 17 bronzes at the 11th ASEAN Para Games in Surakarta (Solo), Indonesia last year.
The ASEAN Para Games, a biannual multi-sport event for athletes with physical disabilities, is to be hosted in the city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia from June 3 to 9.
