YANGON -- Myanmar formed a Republic of the Union of Myanmar Caretaker Government, according to an order by the State Administration Council on Sunday.
Under the order, the new caretaker government will be led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Sen-Gen Min Aung Hlaing as prime minister and Vice Sen-Gen Soe Win as deputy prime minister. (Myanmar-Caretaker Government)

KABUL -- Flights in Afghanistan's Kandahar airport were suspended early Sunday after rockets struck the nation's second main international airport Saturday night, a local official confirmed.
"The initial information found Taliban militants fired three rockets on Kandahar International Airport and two of them struck the runway late Saturday night. KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia has benefitted from continuous support from China in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic, especially in speeding up its national vaccination program with Chinese vaccines, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said on Saturday.
Khairy, who is also the coordinating minister for Malaysia's national COVID-19 immunization program, thanked the Chinese government for its support and facilitation of the procurement of Chinese vaccines, following a visit to a vaccination center near Kuala Lumpur along with Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing. JAKARTA -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 30,738 within one day to 3,440,396, with the death toll adding by 1,604 to 95,723 on Sunday.
During the past 24 hours, 39,446 recovered patients were discharged from hospitals, raising the total number of recoveries from the pandemic in the Southeast Asian country to 2,809,538, according to the ministry. (Indonesia-COVID-19 cases)
