SUVA -- Fiji announced on Friday night a curfew in the Suva-Nausori area after the island nation reported one new COVID-19 case, the seventh straight day of registering new COVID-19 cases.

According to Fiji's Health Ministry, the new case on Friday makes the total number of three cases in Rakiraki, a district about 163 km north of capital city Suva, forming two clusters. (Fiji-COVID-19-Curfew)

HONG KONG -- Joshua Wong, an instigator of the Hong Kong riots, on Friday pleaded guilty to participating in an unauthorized assembly last year.

NEW DELHI -- Commercial international flights to and from India shall remain suspended until May 31, officials said Friday.

According to a circular issued by the country's civil aviation watchdog Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday, the restriction shall not be applicable for international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA. (India-Flights-COVID-19)

YANGON -- Myanmar military extended its non-operation period across the country to May 31, according to a statement released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services on Friday.

The military will continue suspending all military operations across the nation except for the period when security and administrative machinery of the government in addition to state defense and administrative measures are encroached on, the statement said. (Myanmar-Military-Ceasefire)

JAKARTA -- New batches of COVID-19 vaccines produced by Chinese pharmaceutical companies arrived at Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Friday, an Indonesian official said.

"Today, 6 million doses of bulk COVID-19 vaccine from Sinovac Biotech Ltd and 482,400 ready-to-use vaccines from the China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) have arrived," Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny Plate said. (Indonesia-China-Vaccines)
