SINGAPORE -- Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 469 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 50,838.

Of the new cases, 15 are imported, two are community cases and the rest are linked with the dormitories of foreign workers. (Singapore-COVID-19)

HONG KONG -- COVID-19 cases surged Monday in some Asia-Pacific countries as India reported its highest daily spike of 49,931 cases and Australia also recorded the biggest daily increase in both infections and deaths, while Indonesia reported 1,525 new cases and 57 new deaths.

India's federal health ministry reported 708 more deaths and 49,931 new COVID-19 cases on Monday morning, taking the number of deaths to 32,771 and total cases to 1,435,453. (Asia-Pacific-COVID-19)

NEW DELHI -- Over 500,000 COVID-19 tests are conducted every day in India, and the number would soon be ramped up to 1 million per day, said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday while launching the COVID-19 testing facilities at three labs.

The three testing labs have been set up in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in three states, namely West Bengal, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. (India-Testing Facilities)
