China gives thanks to other countries
Jakarta News.Net Saturday 17th May, 2008
Chinese President Hu Jintao has thanked foreign countries and aid volunteers for helping China cope with last week's massive earthquake.
Xinhua news agency has quoted Mr Hu as saying: "I express heartfelt thanks to the foreign governments and international friends that have contributed to our quake-relief work."
Mr Hu made the remarks at a meeting on rescue and relief work on Saturday evening.
Still in Sichuan province, where he has been speaking to affected residents, Mr Hu called for stronger efforts to find survivors, despite it being five days since the quake hit.
Beijing initially rebuffed offers of rescue teams from abroad, but the first to be allowed in was a Japanese team on Friday, followed by rescuers from Singapore, South Korea and Russia.

China gives thanks to other countries
Its just a pity the children running china can’t see past their own front door, and can’t do the same for other cultures.
